WWDC 2026 Unveils New Updates to Siri AI, iOS 27, and Apple Intelligence

Apple Unveils Updates to Siri’s AI Capabilities

As anticipated, Apple emphasized the need for improved performance from its long-standing Siri assistant, acknowledging that users now have higher expectations in the era of artificial intelligence. Leveraging Google Gemini as its underlying technology, Apple claims the new Siri updates will make it more capable, better at natural conversation, and integrated with visual intelligence features. Before introducing these enhancements, Apple reiterated its commitment to a privacy-focused approach when developing AI technologies. “We believe that privacy is absolutely essential in AI development,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President, during the live stream. He further stated that “data is used solely to process your requests, and independent experts can verify this commitment at any time.”

Liquid Glass Now Offers Optional Adjustments

While Apple will not introduce a completely new design style, users will now have the option to reduce the intensity of certain elements or increase their visibility if they prefer that look. iOS 27 Brings Features Back to Older iPhone Models

Apple claims that its upcoming iOS 27 update will be available to more users than any previous iOS release, as it will support all devices starting from the iPhone 11. This update includes a range of performance improvements that Apple highlights across its operating systems this year. According to the company, new photos will load 70 percent faster, AirDrop transfers will be 80 percent quicker, and improvements to CPU schedulers will enhance multitasking capabilities.
