Viral AI Assistant Instinct Launches Dedicated Email Address

Instinct, the rapidly emerging AI assistant now valued at $2.5 billion, is launching a feature that empowers it to act more independently on behalf of users: every user now receives a dedicated Instinct email address.
Founder Noah Shinn announced on Tuesday that these unique email addresses enable the agent to create and manage its own accounts without cluttering users’ personal inboxes.
According to Shinn, this capability allows Instinct to handle account registration and management autonomously when tasks require email communication, such as signing up for various services, contacting businesses, or following up on pending items.
“For instance, Instinct can use its own email to contact a restaurant regarding a special request, inquire about business availability, or sign up for a service required to complete your task,” Shinn explained on X.
We’re giving Instinct access to more tools. Starting today, your Instinct will have its own email address. This is the first step towards enabling your Instinct to own and run its own accounts.

This feature enhances Instinct’s user experience by eliminating the need for users to intervene for logins or credential sharing. (Instinct recently partnered with 1Password to facilitate this process).
However, for businesses seeking to build customer relationships, having an AI manage accounts may obscure the identity of the actual user. Conversely, customers may view this as a benefit, as many are increasingly frustrated by the requirement to provide personal emails and phone numbers for simple tasks or one-off interactions.
Instinct has reserved specific email addresses for its earliest adopters, while others can claim their unique address at mail.instinct.com.
Shinn noted that users can now forward emails to Instinct when specific information is needed to complete a task. For example, if a user wants Instinct to handle a product return, they can forward their order confirmation to Instinct’s email. Instinct can then contact support, provide order details, ask whether the user prefers a return or replacement, and finally provide a printable return label.
Instinct’s email can also be added to group threads to track exchanged information, or users can send it a long thread requiring action, perhaps by asking what decisions remain, which tasks are due, or other relevant questions.
The bot will check back with the user when input is required, but otherwise operates autonomously.
This feature is part of several recent updates designed to enhance Instinct’s capabilities. It follows a recent partnership with 1Password to facilitate logins to users’ existing accounts, as well as a new location-sharing feature that allows Instinct to understand the user’s current location, helping them find nearby businesses, restaurants, or map routes and itineraries. Users can also query their location history, such as where they parked or which restaurant they visited last month.
In August, Instinct also partnered with Stripe to offer a smoother payment experience, enabling the agent to book trips, classes, and appointments, as well as make purchases.
