Tencent WorkBuddy Service Restored After Login Disruption, Compensation Issued
On April 2, Tencent's AI collaboration tool WorkBuddy experienced a widespread login outage. Tencent Cloud later issued an official apology and announced a compensation plan for affected users.
Monitoring data indicates the disruption began at 09:10 that day, with some users in China encountering 504 service errors, login failures, and application crashes. The Tencent technical team responded with an emergency intervention, and services started a phased recovery from 11:45. To address the impact, the company pledged to distribute 1000 Credits to all affected domestic users, with the compensation expected to be issued within two business days.
While officials stated that full service was restored and stabilized by the afternoon, social media and user reports indicated some customers continued to face difficulties accessing the official website and experienced persistent application crashes. This suggests the system's stability still encounters lingering challenges. As a key AI component within Tencent's collaborative office ecosystem, WorkBuddy's service instability directly disrupts the productivity workflows of its enterprise users.
