Nintendo has announced a price increase for its entire range of original Switch consoles and related products, effective this Friday. The adjustment impacts the first-generation Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and a selection of official accessories.

Although Nintendo had not yet confirmed specific figures, retailer Target’s website briefly displayed the new prices, as noted by Wario64. The standard Switch model appeared at $339.99—a $40 increase—while the Switch OLED was listed at $399.99, up by $50. The Switch Lite saw a $30 rise to $229.99. Target has since reverted to showing the original prices.
On Sunday, Nintendo officially implemented the price adjustments, which matched the figures previously seen on Target’s site.
A previously announced price increase also took effect in Canada, adding $20 CAD to the original Switch and Switch Lite, now priced at $419.99 and $279.99 respectively. The Switch OLED increased by $40 CAD, reaching $489.99.

According to the announcement, pricing for certain Switch 2 accessories, select amiibo figures, and the Alarmo device will also rise. However, prices for Switch 2 consoles and all Switch and Switch 2 games—both physical and digital—will remain unchanged.
Nintendo states the decision is “based on current market conditions.”
The price revision follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump that expands tariffs to more countries. In 2019, Nintendo shifted much of its production from China to Vietnam to avoid earlier tariffs, as reported by The New York Times. However, the new levies will now also apply to goods imported from Vietnam, imposing a 20 percent fee.
