For over ten years, Ghost Robotics has deployed legged robots in critical defense, security, and industrial operations. These robots run on the company's proprietary electronics, software, and control systems.

At the Robotics Summit & Expo on May 27-28, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, Gavin Kenneally, CEO and co-founder of Ghost Robotics, will present "From Prototype to Perimeter: 10 Years of Legged Robotics in Action."

During the session, Kenneally will share insights from a decade of field deployments of quadruped robots. The discussion will include real-world case studies, how software advancements are enabling new capabilities, and the future outlook for legged robotics in both public and private sectors over the next five years.

Look back on 10 years of legged robots with Ghost Robotics at the Robotics SummitGavin Kenneally, PhD, is the co-founder and CEO of Philadelphia-based Ghost Robotics. Previously, as head of product, he led the mechanical design of the company's flagship Vision 60 Q-UGV.

As CEO, Dr. Kenneally leads a team of skilled engineers and researchers dedicated to developing advanced robotic systems. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and has authored six academic papers and thirteen patents.

Ghost Robotics is recognized for advancing legged robot technology. Its Vision 60 platform is widely used across the Department of Defense for various applications.

Kenneally recently appeared on The Robot Report Podcast to discuss his experience in building legged robotics.

In late 2025, the company introduced a manipulator arm for its Vision 60 robots. This lightweight, top-mounted system enhances the robot's mission profile by adding precise and robust manipulation capabilities.

Wow, a thousand robots in less than a decade? That's insane growth! 😮 I'm really curious about how they handle the maintenance and software updates for all those units in the field. The defense applications are fascinating, but it also makes me wonder about the long-term costs versus traditional methods. Still, seeing legged robots evolve from labs to real-world ops is pretty mind-blowing!
