Afu Launches AI Nutritionist Feature for Smart Weight Loss via Diet
Health AI Ant A Fu's "Scientific Weight Loss 100 Million Catties" initiative has reached a new milestone. To help users eat healthier, Ant A Fu announced the upgrade and launch of its "AI Food Photo" feature on July 29. Users can now use photos, text, or voice to have A Fu calculate the calories and nutritional content of their food, receive personalized healthy meal suggestions and exercise plans, and automatically log dietary information into their health records. They can easily modify entries and quickly check if they've overeaten, under-exercised, or hit a plateau.

In June, Ant A Fu launched the "Scientific Weight Loss 100 Million Catties" health initiative, which has already attracted nearly 1.5 million netizens, collectively shedding over 2.1 million catties. Diet plays a crucial role in weight management. China's National Health "14th Five-Year Plan" also highlights the importance of implementing rational diet and healthy weight management actions, promoting widespread reduction of salt, oil, and sugar. The upgraded "AI Food Photo" feature aims to provide everyone with an "AI nutritionist," encouraging people to prioritize proper diet and nutrition in their daily lives.
Updated "AI Food Photo" Feature! Netizens: Let A Fu Eat First from Now On
Journalists found the newly upgraded "AI Food Photo" feature remarkably easy to use. Simply "snap, record, and adjust" completes the task. For example, taking a photo of breakfast and sending it to A Fu, the AI automatically recognizes that the combination of "corn + tea egg + soy milk" is well-balanced, with calories around 350 to 430 kcal. A Fu also suggests adding a tomato for vitamin C and drinking 200ml of warm water half an hour after the meal. Although soy milk is liquid, the body's actual water absorption is less than expected, and warm water aids digestion of the corn's coarse fiber.

Besides taking photos, users can also use text, voice, or a combination with photos to activate A Fu's "nutritional calculation card," which displays total calories and nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. With its excellent memory, A Fu allows users to save the calorie and nutritional data of each meal directly into their health records. The "diet record card" then shows a complete history of dietary intake and alerts users if their daily calorie limit has been exceeded. During nutritional calculation and recording, details such as food name, weight, and time can be accurately adjusted.

"In the past, I just ate by instinct, knowing I should balance meat and vegetables and cut down on oil, salt, and sugar, but I had no way to measure exactly how much I was eating. Manual logging was also hard to stick with, making weight loss difficult," said Chen, a Beijing office worker, who immediately tried A Fu's food photo feature. "It's like opening a calorie account with A Fu. The AI helps me see if I've eaten too much or exercised too little, and tells me how to better balance my nutrition and in what order to eat for easy digestion without feeling sluggish. From now on, I plan to let A Fu eat first at every meal."
