Tongyi Qianwen Debuts Qwen3.7 Preview, a Major Upgrade to Its Flagship
Alibaba Cloud's Qwen large model has undergone another significant update. The new Qwen3.7-Max-Preview and Qwen3.7-Plus-Preview are now available on the Arena AI platform and the official Qwen Chat. As flagship previews of the next-generation large model, they are expected to be officially launched at the upcoming Alibaba Cloud Summit.
Based on official product details, both new models currently support only "thinking mode" in this preview phase. This means they prioritize advanced logical reasoning and deep computation, while popular tools like web search and code interpreter are temporarily unavailable.

Strong Performance in Official Benchmarks
In widely recognized large model benchmarks, the new models deliver impressive results. In text processing, Qwen3.7 Max Preview achieved a global ranking of 13th, lifting Tongyi Qianwen to sixth place in the overall lab ranking.
In more specialized technical areas, the model shows clear strength. It ranks 7th globally in mathematics and breaks into the top ten in sub-categories like expert-level applications, software and IT, and pure programming.
Advances in Visual and Expert Domains
Beyond its text and reasoning strengths, the Qwen3.7 Plus Preview also excels in vision, ranking 16th globally. This pushed Tongyi Qianwen to fifth place in the global visual lab ranking.
