Tencent, Chinagoods Launch AI Store Search Across 80,000 Yiwu Shops

On July 20, Tencent Smart Retail and Tencent Maps partnered with the Chinagoods platform to launch "Chinagoods AI Navigation." This initiative introduces Yiwu's first multi-building, cross-bridge indoor and outdoor integrated navigation solution, offering global buyers AI-driven route planning, seamless indoor-outdoor navigation, and AI-powered product recognition and store search.
Spanning over 8 million square meters, the Yiwu International Trade City hosts 80,000 vendors and 2.1 million products. Its complex layout, featuring interconnected buildings and corridors, has long made traditional navigation ineffective, leaving buyers struggling with store location and inaccurate routing.
Leveraging the Tencent Maps navigation engine, the WeChat mini program "Xiaoshang AI Navigation" automatically generates routes based on merchant names, business IDs, or product details. It enables precise cross-region and cross-floor navigation; for instance, buyers can move from the third floor of Area 1 to the second floor of Area 4 via corridors without asking for directions. Testing indicates this method boosts store-finding efficiency by nearly 70% compared to traditional approaches.
Additionally, the service integrates Chinagoods' AI product recognition, allowing buyers to identify products and sources via photos and navigate directly to the relevant store. Supporting multilingual interfaces, it creates a seamless bridge between online product selection and offline purchasing.
For merchants, the WeChat location card feature facilitates the conversion of online traffic into offline sales. Moving forward, Tencent and Chinagoods will continue to expand LBS and AI applications in large-scale commercial settings, developing a replicable intelligent commercial navigation model.
