Opera Browser Introduces AI-Powered Tool for Website and Game Development

Opera unveiled a new browser called Opera Neon on Tuesday, designed to enhance AI workflows and automate tasks like shopping, form filling, and coding.
The browser is currently available through a waitlist, and the company announced that a subscription will be required upon its official release. Pricing details have not yet been shared.
Notably, Opera Neon includes three new sidebar buttons: Chat, Do, and Make. Chat provides a chatbot interface for web searches, answering questions, and offering more context about the webpages you visit.
Do utilizes the company’s Browser Operator AI agent, introduced in March. This AI is designed to handle tasks such as completing forms and managing travel bookings directly within the browser.
The Make option is another standout feature, enabling users to generate games, websites, code snippets, reports, and more using text prompts. According to the company, these AI workflows run on cloud-based virtual machines, allowing Neon to continue processing tasks offline and support multiple simultaneous operations.
While these features sound promising in theory, real-world AI applications often fall short of expectations. It's also worth noting that Opera is not alone in developing AI agents for browsers—The Browser Company previewed an AI-driven browser last December aimed at automating user tasks, and Google is also advancing projects that deliver AI-generated search results and perform automated actions.
