OpenAI's Official Plugin Deeply Integrated with Claude Code
The AI developer community recently witnessed a significant update. OpenAI has officially launched an open-source project named codex-plugin-cc on GitHub. This plugin enables developers to directly access the capabilities of OpenAI's Codex model from within Anthropic's command-line development tool, Claude Code.
This cross-platform integration breaks down the previous ecosystem barriers between major AI tools. It allows developers to leverage the technical strengths of both industry leaders simultaneously, without needing to switch environments. With straightforward configuration, Claude Code transforms into a versatile programming assistant that combines the best of both worlds.

With this plugin, users can initiate a standard, read-only code review using the /codex:review command to receive professional improvement suggestions from Codex. This dual-verification mechanism effectively catches logic flaws that a single model might overlook, providing "double insurance" for code quality.
More notably, it features an "adversarial review" function. Developers can use the /codex:adversarial-review command to actively request that Codex challenge existing design decisions. This mode is specifically designed to stress-test system architecture, uncovering potential performance bottlenecks or security risks from a critical perspective.
The plugin also introduces a task delegation feature. Users can assign complex debugging or repair tasks to a dedicated Codex sub-agent using the /codex:rescue command. This collaborative model enables intelligent task distribution, allowing the primary and auxiliary models to focus on their respective areas of expertise.
