On Wednesday, Lovable and Google announced an expanded multi-year partnership. Lovable, the fast-growing Stockholm-based vibe-coding startup, has been a Google Cloud customer for some time. Under the new agreement, its usage will increase significantly.
Although the companies didn't reveal the financial terms, a source familiar with the deal told TechCrunch it involves a fivefold expansion of Lovable's presence on Google Cloud, including AI usage. According to the same source, Lovable will get broader access to both Anthropic's Claude, a popular AI model for coding, and Google's Gemini models.
The Anthropic aspect is particularly noteworthy. In April, Google invested $10 billion in Anthropic, combining cash and compute credits, with a promise of an additional $30 billion if Anthropic meets certain performance benchmarks. That investment was made at a $350 billion valuation, just one month before Anthropic raised an astonishing $65 billion round that valued the company at nearly $1 trillion. This new deal could help Anthropic achieve those targets, as Lovable is among Europe's fastest-growing startups on record. Lovable reports that it surpassed $400 million in annualized revenue in February, adding $100 million in a single month with only 146 employees. The company says that more than half of the Fortune 500 use its product in some capacity.
The agreement also integrates Lovable into other parts of Google's ecosystem. Lovable's new agent will be accessible through Google Cloud's enterprise agent marketplace, the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery — a plan first signaled by the two companies at Google's major U.S. cloud conference in April. To help secure code written by both humans and agents, Lovable will integrate with Wiz, Google's largest acquisition ever at $32 billion, which officially closed in March, a year after being announced. This integration will enable Wiz to identify and fix security issues in real time.
By distributing Lovable's agents through Google's marketplace, the cloud giant says enterprise procurement and billing become simpler, helping Lovable attract more enterprise customers.
Google's reasoning is straightforward. If it can drive growth for both Lovable and Anthropic by attracting well-funded enterprises, the resulting revenue can help cover the $180 billion to $190 billion in capital expenditures Google plans this year. The company is already selling a record $85 billion in equity to partially fund that, leaving roughly another $100 billion to go.
