Jia Yuelin Unveils FF Robot Business Plans for Public Launch, Targeting 2,000 Units by Year-End
Faraday Future (FFAI) founder and Chief Product & User Ecosystem Officer Jia Youting announced on August 17 that the FF robot business has entered a new phase of "volume revenue growth," and the company is actively exploring independent financing and listing paths for the robot business to free it from historical burdens and car debt, creating greater value for FFAI investors.
According to the company's Q3 robot practicalization campaign plan for the second half of the year titled "Four Cores Full Intelligence," the business will focus on four core modules: accelerating sales of the EAI body, expanding markets in California, Texas, New York, and the East Coast of the United States, with a goal of shipping a total of 2,000 units by the end of the year; deepening the integration of the EAI brain with NVIDIA's technology stack, advancing the training and verification of GR00T in complex grasping and other embodied intelligence tasks, while moving the SONIC system from simulation training to real-machine full control.
Productivity solutions for the industry focus on four fields: education, industry, and security inspection, with a plan to produce 100 Skills by the end of the year and expand the developer community to 200 entities; the EAI data factory aims to achieve 2,100 hours of real-world data collection per month by the end of August, and reach 20,000 hours per month by the end of December.
On the financial front, according to the semi-annual report for fiscal year 2026 released by FF on August 14, the total operating revenue in the first half was $1.348 million, down 99.93% year-on-year; the net profit attributable to shareholders was a loss of $74.885 million, narrowing by 44.51% year-on-year; the gross margin was -1638%.
The robot business had an average gross margin of over 30% in the first half and has become a core growth engine — in the second quarter, revenue reached $836,000 due to the delivery of 220 EAI robots, a year-on-year increase of more than 1,400%, with 152 units shipped in July setting a monthly record. As of August 4, a total of 394 units have been shipped. However, the historical heavy asset depreciation and debt costs of the automotive business are still significantly higher than the gross margin contribution of the robot business. The company plans to reduce total liabilities to below $100 million in the next three to four quarters.
In addition, FF is accelerating the implementation of the "Built in USA" acceleration plan, accelerating the sale of three series with seven models that have already obtained FCC certification, and advancing the implementation of the second phase of "Assembled in USA" local assembly.
