Haier's AI Eye Washing Machine Debuts at Canton Fair, Targets European Market

At the 139th Canton Fair, Haier unveiled a standout product that drew significant attention: the V12 washing machine.
Its most distinctive feature is the industry-first "AI Eye." While it may sound like a marketing trick, the real-world benefits are substantial. Before washing, it detects clothing colors to prevent color bleeding. During the cycle, it monitors foam levels in real time and adjusts the number of rinses accordingly. After washing, if clothes remain inside for too long, it sends a reminder. From start to finish, the machine actively manages the wash process rather than simply running through a preset program.
Beyond the AI Eye, the V12 incorporates Wind Cruise Pro and Essence Wash technology. These features were reportedly developed specifically to align with the laundry habits and care preferences of European users.
This machine has a clear target: it is scheduled to officially enter the European market later this year. The timing is strategic. Haier’s washing machines already lead Chinese brands in both sales volume and revenue within the European export market, and they are the only Chinese washing machine brand to earn the highest German Stiwa certification. Launching a flagship model on the back of an established reputation and market leadership is a calculated move to strengthen its strongest segment.
The export of Chinese home appliances has moved beyond price competition. Today, success hinges on technological innovation and brand recognition. Haier’s washing machine with “eyes” perfectly illustrates this shift.
