FAULHABER has introduced its DualGear drive system this week. Engineered for use in conveyor belts and the compact wheel drives of autonomous logistics systems, the new product addresses key industry needs.
In intralogistics settings where space is at a premium, the system provides a high-performance and economical solution, according to the company.
FAULHABER highlights the system's key advantage: its versatility. A single drive can execute two synchronous movements, significantly reducing integration complexity while optimizing both installation space and overall system costs.
Modern conveying and logistics systems demand dynamic, durable, and easily integrated drive solutions. The DualGear meets these demands with its robust construction, high control accuracy, and extended service life, FAULHABER stated.
DualGear combines BX4 and GPT technology
The new drive system integrates two high-performance components into a compact unit:
The brushless 32 mm motor from the dynamic and proven BX4 seriesTwo diameter-matched, mounted metal planetary gearheads from the GPT series, positioned at both ends of the motorThe BX4 base motor for the DualGear combination comes in two lengths: 42 mm and 68 mm. This flexibility allows the drive system to be tailored to different performance and spatial requirements.
Hall sensors with sine/cosine output signals enable precise rotor position detection for accurate commutation and positioning. When paired with an external motion controller, the system facilitates precise positioning movements, resulting in a drive that combines high torque and accuracy with a compact footprint.
In this configuration, the GPT planetary gearheads are available with up to three stages, allowing precise adjustment to specific speed and torque needs. The components feature welded joints exclusively, ensuring a reliable and durable build without the use of adhesives.
