At today’s "2026 Volcano Engine FORCE Original Power Conference," Tan Dai, president of Volcano Engine, officially introduced the Doubao Large Model 2.1 Pro and shared the latest operational growth metrics for the model. According to the data, the daily average token usage of the Doubao Large Model has surpassed 18 trillion, marking a 1,500-fold increase from its initial 120 billion tokens in May 2024, reflecting strong business adoption.
The upgraded Doubao Large Model 2.1 Pro delivers notable improvements in three key areas: code generation, intelligent agents, and multimodal processing. During a live demonstration at the conference, the model showcased its ability to coordinate large-scale agent collaboration by constructing a complex 3D virtual city. It enabled over 500 intelligent agents to work together synchronously, completing thousands of tool calls and autonomously generating more than 100 buildings.
China’s large model industry is now moving from basic computing power competition to delivering high-value scenarios. The release of Doubao 2.1 Pro not only confirms its enterprise market traction through surging daily token usage but also demonstrates technical depth in complex logical planning and engineering implementation via a massive agent collaboration case.
