DiT author Xie Saining launches multi-person video world model Solaris at $3.5B seed valuation
On March 11, 2026, Xie Saining, a leading figure in global AI vision and the creator of DiT (Diffusion Transformers), together with his team, unveiled the world's first multi-player video world model — Solaris. This milestone not only demonstrates how multiple players perceive and collaborate in a virtual world, but also marks a shift in video generation models from "single-player, single-view" to "multi-player interactive worlds."
Technical Foundation: Multi-Player Self-Attention Layers Greatly Improve Building Consistency
Solaris 's core technical architecture is built on the real-time long-sequence interactive world model Matrix-Game2.0, which was open-sourced by Kunlun Tian Gong in August 2025.
Compared to Multiverse, the only previous multi-player solution, Solaris introduced an innovative "multi-player self-attention layer" that enables real-time information exchange between players. In tests within Minecraft, the model excelled at handling complex challenges such as building consistency and visual alignment, ensuring visuals remain stable when multiple players interact in the same space.

Capital Frenzy: AMI Raises $1 Billion, Yann LeCun Leads Paris Headquarters
With the launch of Solaris , Xie Saining's newly founded AI startup AMI also came into the spotlight. The company, officially established in January 2026 by Turing Award winner and former Meta Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun, is headquartered in Paris, France.
According to reports, AMI has secured a seed round of up to $1.03 billion, with a pre-money valuation soaring to $3.5 billion. Xie Saining serves as co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), overseeing the company's core technology R&D direction.
Open Source Ecosystem: Empowering Global Developers to Build Multi-Player Video Scenes
Building on the open-source Matrix-Game2.0 solution, the release of Solaris opens new possibilities for game development, virtual reality, and embodied AI training. Related Solaris resources are now available for download, and the model is expected to drive an interactive shift in video generation—from "watching videos" to "performing videos."
