ClickHouse, a database provider, has surpassed $250 million in annualized revenue run rate, growing threefold from last year, according to Yury Izrailevsky, co‑founder and president of product and technology. Izrailevsky expects the figure to reach the high nine digits by the end of the year.
In January, ClickHouse was valued at $15 billion after a $400 million Series D round led by Dragoneer Investment Group. That valuation represents a steep multiple of more than 60 times its annualized revenue.
According to Izrailevsky (pictured left), the company’s rapid revenue growth and premium valuation position it for an IPO within the next few years. ClickHouse joins a small but expanding group of tech startups eyeing public offerings, as the IPO window is expected to open wide following SpaceX’s historic June debut and the highly anticipated listings from OpenAI and Anthropic later this year.
Last fall, the startup appointed Jimmy Sexton as chief financial officer; he previously led investor relations at Snowflake, a key competitor. Hiring a CFO is often seen as a sign that a company is gearing up for public markets.
The company has acquired six startups so far, including Langfuse, which helps developers monitor and evaluate AI agent performance. Izrailevsky said ClickHouse intends to stay acquisitive, targeting “relatively young startups with very promising technology” — often open‑source — that complement its core product suite.
The technology behind ClickHouse was originally built within Russian search giant Yandex 17 years ago, and was spun off as an independent startup in 2021.
ClickHouse serves over 4,000 customers, including Anthropic, Meta, Capital One, and Decagon.
The startup’s open‑source database is built to handle the massive datasets needed by AI agents. ClickHouse generates revenue through managed cloud services. Izrailevsky said that the commercial offering actually costs clients less than managing the open‑source version themselves — “something that’s a little counterintuitive, but it also has been a big tailwind for us.”
