Anthropic Offers Free Claude Max Access to Key Open Source Developers
To thank the open source community for its vital contributions to the AI ecosystem, Anthropic has officially launched the "Claude for Open Source Program." This initiative is designed to provide advanced AI computing resources to the maintainers and core contributors of popular open-source projects.

Under this program, eligible participants will receive a 6-month complimentary subscription to Claude Max20x. Anthropic emphasized that open-source maintainers are fundamental to the sustained health of the technology ecosystem, and offering them premier AI tools is intended to enhance their efficiency in code review, refactoring, and community management.
Eligibility and requirements:
Core Role: Applicants must be primary maintainers or core team members of public repositories.
Project Impact: The repository must have 5000+ Stars on GitHub, or exceed 1 million monthly downloads on NPM.
Activity Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate consistent commit, release, or pull request review activity over the past three months.
Notably, Anthropic has adopted a flexible approach: projects that may not meet the scale thresholds but are considered "critical infrastructure" widely relied upon by other systems are encouraged to apply and detail their project's significance. The application portal is currently open, and developers can register via the sales contact page on the Claude website.
