Anthropic Explors Potential $50 Billion Financing Round to Push Company Valuation to $900 Billion

There is intense interest among investors in Anthropic at the moment.
According to several people familiar with the situation, the company behind Claude AI has received numerous advance offers to raise new funds amounting to roughly $50 billion, based on a valuation estimated between $850 billion and $900 billion. Earlier this month, Bloomberg and Business Insider reported that Anthropic had received multiple preliminary bids at an $800 billion valuation, though the company had not yet committed to any fundraising at that time.
However, these sources indicate that Anthropic is finding it hard to resist pressure to secure additional funding ahead of what could be its final round of private financing before a potential initial public offering. One individual who spoke with TechCrunch said the company is expected to make a final decision regarding both the fundraising round and its valuation at a board meeting in May.
People with knowledge of the company’s finances project that this latest funding round will total between $40 billion and $50 billion. Yet given the company’s rapid growth, which shows no signs of slowing down, investor demand appears to be much higher than that figure. Many investors are eager to participate in this round. According to one source, an institutional investor prepared to contribute up to $5 billion has yet to schedule a meeting with Anthropic’s CFO, Krishna Rao.
This month, Anthropic announced that its annual revenue run rate had surpassed $30 billion, a significant increase from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025. One person familiar with the company’s financials said its current run rate is closer to $40 billion.
Anthropic declined to provide any comments.
A substantial portion of this revenue comes from Anthropic’s AI coding capabilities, particularly through its Claude Code and Cowork platforms. Many investors believe the company has only begun to realize its full potential, given the vast opportunities to expand its offerings into new industries such as finance, life sciences, and healthcare.
Anthropic raised its last funding round in February at a $380 billion valuation. If it proceeds with another fundraising under the terms outlined by TechCrunch’s sources, not only will its valuation more than double, but it will also approach or exceed that of its main competitor. Also in February, OpenAI completed a record-breaking funding round worth $122 billion, resulting in a post-money valuation of $852 billion.
