Yinguo Technology: China's Rising 3D Generation Star Lands Hundreds of Millions, Catches NVIDIA's Eye
As competition in AI large models enters a new phase centered on "world models," the industry faces a fresh challenge: enabling AI not only to understand visuals but also to generate truly usable 3D digital assets. Recently, AI company Yingmou Technology announced a new round of financing worth hundreds of millions of yuan, led by Kaifu Fund and Shanghai Guotou Daliang, with existing shareholders also participating. This investment reflects capital market confidence in the 3D generation sector and marks the rise of a Chinese R&D team composed primarily of "post-00s" talents on the global stage through solid technology.
Yingmou Technology's latest model, Rodin Gen-2.5 , represents a major technological breakthrough. It is the world's first 3D large model capable of generating tens of millions of faces, and it introduces a "think first, then generate" mechanism similar to large language models. This design allows the model to adaptively handle objects of different complexities based on computational budget: simple models are generated quickly, while complex characters or detailed parts receive more computing power, achieving precise restoration of details such as skin texture, pores, and dragon scales.

Unlike most generation tools that only achieve "presentation-level" effects, Yingmou Technology focuses on "production-level usability." With Rodin Gen-2.5, generated models support physically accurate PBR materials at 12K ultra-high resolution, and assets can be directly imported into game engines or post-production pipelines for disassembly, rigging, and secondary editing. This practical approach has quickly gained traction in overseas markets, with about 80% of the company's revenue coming from North America. Its technology has been adopted in high-profile scenarios such as Unity AI Beta, Figma, and NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang's CES keynote.
This breakthrough is driven by a young R&D team. The core algorithm team at Yingmou Technology largely comes from the MARS Lab at ShanghaiTech University, making it a truly "post-00s" team. Despite high talent mobility in the AI industry, they have maintained strong retention, focusing on a vertical path from scanning the real world to generating digital humans and then building complete 3D assets.
