xAI Overhauls Grok Voice with 21 Premium Multilingual Voices
xAI has rolled out a major update to its Grok Voice system, significantly improving the interactive experience and advancing its voice technology capabilities. This release introduces 21 new flagship voices at once, designed to offer more personalized and distinctive options for various use cases.

These fresh voices, together with the existing five, build a richer audio library. The 21 voices span diverse areas like customer service, role-playing, content narration, advertising, and educational tutoring, precisely fitting the needs of different scenarios. Meanwhile, xAI has deeply retrained the five classic voices—Ara, Eve, Leo, Rex, and Sal—refining rhythm, phrasing, and emphasis for a noticeable leap in natural expression.
To give developers flexible access, xAI also launched the Grok Voice Agent Builder platform. These voices are now fully integrated into the real-time voice agent API and text-to-speech (TTS) API. Notably, all voices come with native multilingual support, smoothly handling over 25 languages. The system introduces refined voice control tags like [pause], allowing developers to precisely shape speech rhythm.
Starting today, users can explore the new voice effects in the official Playground environment and test them in real projects. This update reflects xAI’s ongoing push to build a voice agent ecosystem, giving developers more competitive tools for their work.
