WeChat Work AI Assistant Enters Closed Beta, Streamlining Weekly Reports and Managing Group Chats
Tencent has confirmed that its enterprise-grade AI assistant, Da Yuan, is now in internal testing. Mobile users can activate it by swiping left on the side handle within any Enterprise WeChat interface, while desktop users can access it via the "Smart Assistant" option in the left sidebar. This seamless integration eliminates the need to switch apps or disrupt ongoing workflows.
From managing overflowing chat threads to drafting weekly reports, Da Yuan streamlines daily office tasks.
Da Yuan’s primary feature is its ability to handle "climbing stairs" — a term for managing high-volume group chats. When faced with 99+ unread messages, numerous voice notes, and scattered information, it automatically extracts key points, summarizes audio content, and generates to-do lists based on the conversation. In more complex office scenarios, Da Yuan integrates with dozens of native Enterprise WeChat features, including smart documents, spreadsheets, meetings, and scheduling tools, while supporting scheduled message and email delivery.
For instance, when drafting a weekly report, users simply type "help me write this week's report." Da Yuan then retrieves relevant messages, documents, and emails from Enterprise WeChat, organizes completed tasks, project progress, and key discussion points, and generates a structured initial draft ready for editing. This approach significantly reduces the friction and repetitive tasks associated with copying information into third-party tools, allowing users to complete the entire process within the app.
