WeChat Pay Unveils AI Dedicated Card with Isolated Main Account and Closed-Loop Agent Spending
On June 17, WeChat Pay introduced the "AI Dedicated Card," a payment tool built specifically for AI agents. This innovative solution lets users simply state their purchasing needs during conversations with Agents, creating a seamless loop from smart recommendations to order placement and payment.
The feature is now available on WorkBuddy Mac version 5.1.1. Users can access the "Meituan Life Assistant" from the expert page and buy group-buying lifestyle services directly using the "AI Dedicated Card."

While traditional AI applications are often limited to information retrieval and dialogue generation, WeChat Pay's initiative directly tackles the last-mile payment fund flow challenge for Agent deployment. To address widespread concerns about fund security and unauthorized spending, WeChat Pay implemented an "account isolation" architecture: the "AI Dedicated Card" is separate from the main WeChat Pay account, and Agents can only access a limited balance within the dedicated card.

Additionally, the card's balance supports instant top-ups and withdrawals, and each order requires user authorization before final execution, ensuring fund flow control from both technical and procedural standpoints.
