Vibe-coding startup Anything hits $2M ARR in two weeks, lands $100M valuation

Vibe coding, the practice of using AI tools to build applications through natural language prompts, is undeniably surging in popularity.

The market's momentum is clear. Swedish startup Lovable achieved $100 million in annual recurring revenue within eight months of launch, projecting to reach $250 million by year-end and a staggering $1 billion within the next year. Similarly, Replit recently reported its ARR skyrocketed from $2.8 million to $150 million in under a year.

This explosive growth has sparked a flood of new competitors. "It's one of those sectors where every company is growing rapidly," observes Nikhil Basu Trivedi, co-founder and general partner at Footwork.

However, Basu Trivedi points out a critical weakness in Lovable, Replit, and similar platforms: while excellent for prototyping, they often fall short in helping users launch production-ready, fully functional software.

The core issue, according to Basu Trivedi, is that most vibe-coding tools lack the comprehensive infrastructure non-technical founders need to deploy a complete product.

Enter Anything, an AI app launched just a month ago. It aims to solve this by bundling every necessary tool—from databases and storage to payments—enabling users to launch web businesses or submit apps directly to the App Store. Its early traction was immediate, hitting a $2 million annualized run rate in its first two weeks.

Despite the crowded field, Anything's blistering growth convinced Basu Trivedi it was a must-fund opportunity.

Anything announced an $11 million funding round on Monday at a $100 million valuation. The round was led by Footwork, with participation from Uncork, Bessemer, and M13.

Founded by ex-Google colleagues Dhruv Amin and Marcus Lowe, Anything specifically targets non-technical creators, enabling them to build complete web and mobile applications.

"We haven't seen substantial businesses built on existing vibe-coding platforms," Amin states. "Our vision is to become the Shopify of this space—a foundation where people build and monetize their applications."

Amin reports that users have already deployed fully functional apps via Anything, including a habit tracker, a CPR training course, and a virtual hairstyle try-on app, some of which are already generating revenue.

This success, Amin explains, stems from users not needing to integrate disparate third-party tools. Everything required to go from prototype to live product is included.

The concept for an all-in-one, AI-powered app builder emerged nearly a year ago. Amin and Lowe, who have collaborated since 2021, initially ran a bootstrapped dev marketplace blending AI tools with human developers. That venture, generating about $2 million annually, became obsolete as generative AI promised faster, cheaper app creation.

Consequently, they pivoted in 2023 to develop their own AI app-building tool, securing pre-seed and seed funding from Uncork and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The duo observed that rivals like Lovable and StackBlitz's Bolt often depend on third-party services like Supabase. They decided to differentiate Anything by developing the entire infrastructure stack in-house.

This ambitious build-out was time-consuming but strategic. Anything isn't alone in betting that integrated back-end services drive growth. Competitors like Mocha and Rork are also building proprietary infrastructure, with Rork claiming a path to $10 million ARR by year's end.

Yet, for Basu Trivedi, the competition validates the market. "There appears to be ample demand for various types of app-building solutions," he notes.

$2M ARR in just two weeks? That's nuts — but I wonder how many of those users will stick around once the novelty of vibe-coding wears off. Feels like a gold rush with a ticking clock 🕰️

Неужели виб-кодинг так быстро набирает обороты? 😳 Шведский стартап за две недели достиг $2M ARR — это выглядит как очередной пузырь ИИ. Мне интересно, как долго продлится эта эйфория, прежде чем рынок остынет.
