Tongyi Qianwen Qwen3.5 Open Source Family Expands with New Models and Managed Services
The Qwen team recently announced a major expansion of their open-source Qwen3.5 model family, releasing several new models at once alongside production-grade API services.
The new open-source models consist of three main variants:
Qwen3.5-122B-A10B excels at complex agent tasks, including multi-step reasoning and tool calling, further closing the performance gap between mid-range models and leading closed-source alternatives.
Qwen3.5-35B-A3B outperforms larger predecessors like Qwen3-235B-A22B, showcasing how smarter architecture, better data, and reinforcement learning can boost intelligence without relying on sheer parameter count.
Qwen3.5-27B (Dense) is designed for compact efficiency, lowering the barrier to using large models.
Meanwhile, for enterprise production, the Alibaba Cloud BaiLian platform now offers the Qwen3.5-Flash API. This managed service is based on Qwen3.5-35B-A3B, with a default context length of 1 million tokens and a built-in native toolchain—ready for immediate use.
