Tencent Unveils Penguin Microscope, an AI-Powered Creator Order Platform Integrating Demand Posting, Smart Matching, and Settlement Within WeChat
Tencent has introduced "Penguin Micro," a new matching platform within WeChat that connects AI content creators with users seeking creative services. Operating under the tagline "State your needs, and we'll match you with the right creative partner," the platform is currently in an early open phase during the National Day holiday. Public access is available, though a full launch date has not yet been confirmed.
Penguin Micro functions as a marketplace for AI-generated content, bridging two key user groups: demanders, such as e-commerce businesses needing product visuals and promotional videos, as well as individuals and teams requiring short-form video content; and artisans, who are creators equipped with AI image generation and video editing capabilities.
To join as an artisan, users must apply via "My—Settings—Online Feedback," submitting personal details to customer service for approval. Once approved, they gain the ability to participate in demand matching on the platform.

Users seeking creative services can select a category on the "Find Service" homepage and post their requirements, which the platform then matches with suitable artisans. Upon matching, a three-party communication channel opens between the user, the creator, and the platform to finalize production details, pricing, and deliverables. After confirmation, users place orders and complete payments. The entire workflow—from posting demands and matching creators to communication, payment, delivery, and settlement—takes place entirely within the WeChat ecosystem. Additionally, an integrated AI assistant helps users articulate their needs more clearly, minimizing miscommunication.

This model tackles the common challenge of AI tools being easy to use but difficult to monetize by integrating individual creators into a standardized transaction framework. The platform's long-term success, including stable supply and repeat business, hinges on the maturity of its pricing structures, delivery standards, and settlement protocols.
