Tencent reshuffles AI units, merging QClaw into Cloud Product Dept 6 and integrating WorkBuddy

On July 20, Tencent announced an internal restructuring that moves QClaw Product Center operations and select teams into Cloud Product Department 6. The restructured QClaw product will maintain its current operations, signaling a deeper strategic integration in Tencent’s AI Agent initiatives.
QClaw, a key initiative in Tencent’s AI workspace sector, was built by the Tencent Computer Manager team using the OpenClaw architecture. Since its internal beta launch in March, it gained rapid traction, attracting over a million users within its first week. Cloud Product Department 6, which now oversees QClaw, also manages WorkBuddy, another leading AI-powered office assistant.
According to Analysys Intelligence’s latest “Market Insight Report on China's Office Intelligent Agent Platforms in Q2 2026,” Tencent WorkBuddy has established itself as a major competitor with robust AI-native office features. In June, WorkBuddy’s monthly visits in the domestic PC-based AI-native office segment surpassed 20 million, maintaining its market leadership and outperforming the combined traffic of the second and third-ranked competitors.
As AI agents transition from experimental tools to widespread adoption, consolidating QClaw and WorkBuddy allows Tencent to streamline resources and enhance technological synergy. This restructuring reinforces Tencent’s dominance in the PC-based AI-native office sector and sets a benchmark for how major tech firms can integrate intelligent agent portfolios during the large model deployment phase.
