Ping An Bank, Tencent Cloud, China UnionPay Team Up to Launch AI Smart Computing Card, AI-Themed Credit Card Coming Next Month

On June 30, Tencent Cloud, Ping An Bank, and China UnionPay jointly introduced the AI Smart Computing Card, a debit card designed specifically for individual AI computing power users. By combining essential financial services with exclusive computing power perks, the card addresses common frustrations like switching between multiple platforms and making repeated payments. It aims to deliver a seamless end-to-end experience for AI computing consumption, tool usage, and everyday financial management—all in one card.
Applications for the debit card are expected to open in July this year via the Ping An Bank mobile banking app and its physical branches. On the technology side, the card enables one-click access to various mainstream AI large models hosted on the UnionPay Cloud Computing platform. Its key feature, the TokenPlan computing package, covers frequently used AI scenarios like text generation, image understanding, and code assistance. It may also include Tencent WorkBuddy points, supporting the AI work and learning needs of diverse users such as content creators, university students, and freelancers.
Under the official qualification system, users can gradually unlock access to more advanced computing power—including GPU inference time and higher-tier model calling quotas—along with extra WorkBuddy benefits, by opening an account, using the card, and meeting asset thresholds. Additionally, Ping An Bank plans to introduce an AI-themed credit card next month. Customers who hold both cards will receive combined benefits, such as accelerated accumulation of computing power points.
As large language model technology continues to expand into edge and application layers worldwide, the introduction of the AI Smart Computing Card signals a move toward more widespread and standardized AI computing power consumption. By deeply integrating financial infrastructure with cloud-based large models, the card not only reshapes the banking industry's rewards system but also offers individual AI developers and frequent users a streamlined, accessible way to obtain computing power.
