On August 12, Ant Group’s medical application, previously known as "Good Doctor Professional Edition," was officially rebranded as "Ant Afu Professional Edition." The platform now equips millions of physicians across China with two distinct AI assistants: one dedicated to clinical support and another to patient engagement via AI avatars. These tools empower doctors to manage patient care, conduct research, and initiate online consultations with a single click. By enabling physicians to serve more patients efficiently, the platform ensures that patients receive timely, professional healthcare services with greater convenience.

As China’s first AI workstation designed for comprehensive online consultations, patient management, and research workflows, Afu Professional Edition has integrated with the Ant Afu App, which boasts over 100 million users. This integration marks a global first in establishing a dual-sided layout and deep synergy between healthcare providers and patients.

Currently, Afu Professional Edition is deeply integrated with the Afu App, making it the first AI platform globally to achieve a dual-sided layout and deep integration between doctors and patients. Public data indicates that the Afu App’s user base has surpassed 100 million.

Ant Afu maintains that hospitals and doctors remain the core of medical diagnosis and treatment. Consequently, the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare must ensure "Doctor in the loop (doctor's supervision)." Previously, the Afu App introduced an "AI Q&A + Doctor Supervision" service in dermatology. In this model, AI-generated answers are reviewed and confirmed by physicians from leading hospitals, with a consistency rate exceeding 90% between the doctors’ reviews and Afu’s analysis.

To meet growing user demands, this service has now expanded to 16 departments on the Afu App, including obstetrics, gynecology, and otolaryngology. This expansion allows more physicians to leverage AI to enhance their professional capabilities and serve a broader patient base. With the integration of Afu Professional Edition and the Afu App, both platforms can more accurately connect and match the needs of doctors and patients in high-frequency scenarios such as health Q&A and doctor supervision.

Furthermore, the upgraded Afu Professional Edition has opened internet hospital business access to all medical institutions nationwide for the first time. This means that, in addition to registered doctors from Good Doctor Internet Hospital, other hospitals and physicians can join as institutions. The upgraded Afu Professional Edition now features two core modules: "AI Medical Assistant" and "AI Avatar Assistant." These cover the entire workflow of physicians, from consultation to academic research, and from patient service to long-term management.

Regarding patient management, when doctors open the Afu Professional Edition app, they can click "My AI Avatar Assistant" on the home page and upload relevant information to create a personalized "AI Avatar Assistant." This assistant operates 24/7, helping doctors provide pre-consultation guidance, health advice, and post-consultation follow-up services to patients.

Before a consultation, the AI assistant helps doctors understand the patient’s condition in advance through pre-consultation data, quickly completing medical records and key analysis. After the consultation, the doctor’s service does not end. On one hand, the AI avatar assistant responds to patient questions around the clock, fostering more comprehensive doctor-patient communication. At the same time, it continuously follows up with patients and automatically generates follow-up summaries, synchronizing them to the patient’s health record for easy tracking by the doctor. This means that a doctor’s professional service no longer ends at the clinic or during office hours but extends into full-cycle support. Regarding diagnostic assistance, the "AI Medical Assistant" on the homepage of Afu Professional Edition supports doctors in obtaining free, instant, accurate, and traceable knowledge retrieval through text or voice input.
