OpenAI has rolled out a major feature update for its AI-powered browser, Atlas, now enabling login with multiple ChatGPT accounts. This update addresses the challenge users face when trying to manage different identities within a single browser.
Adam Fry, Atlas browser's product manager, noted that account switching is one of the most requested features and the final hurdle for many users to adopt it as their primary browser.
Users can now log into separate personal, work, and school accounts within the same Atlas browser using independent profile configurations. Conversation history, browsing preferences, and personalized data remain completely isolated, keeping work and private life separate while enhancing privacy and security.
Since its launch last year, Atlas has followed a weekly update schedule. Beyond multi-account support, it already includes core browser features like automatic tab organization, plugin import, tab renaming, and grouping.
This update marks Atlas's shift from an "experimental AI tool" to a "mature productivity browser," further closing the gap with traditional browsers like Chrome and Edge in terms of core usability.
