The Nubia NaviX Ultra, recognized as the world’s first AI agent smartphone, has secured its Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) network access license, finalizing all regulatory steps from large model filing to terminal approval. Scheduled for a September 2026 launch, this second-generation flagship—powered by the Doubao mobile assistant—signals the industry’s shift from concept testing to mass commercialization of AI-driven devices.
Unlike conventional AI phones that treat artificial intelligence as a standalone app or peripheral feature, the Nubia NaviX Ultra embeds the large model agent directly into the operating system’s core, transforming it into a fundamental system engine. This architecture enables cross-application screen analysis and simulated user interactions.
By issuing simple natural language commands, such as “find the cheapest flight for tomorrow,” users can delegate complex tasks to the AI. The system autonomously handles cross-app searches, price comparisons, and form filling, requiring user confirmation only at the final payment step.
