Netflix Secretly Launches AI Animation Studio INKubator for Feature-Length Content
Netflix is quietly building a new internal animation studio called INKubator (or simply INK). The studio's core focus is "GenAI-native," aiming to leverage AI to produce short-form animations and movie-quality content.
According to LinkedIn, the department was quietly launched in March 2026. It is led by Serrena Iyer, who previously held strategic and operational roles at notable production companies like DreamWorks Animation, MRC Studios, and A24. Netflix is actively hiring for this team, seeking producers, software engineers, and CG artists.

Technical Vision: AI-Powered End-to-End Workflow
Job postings reveal that INKubator's mission extends well beyond simple experimentation:
GenAI-Native Pipeline: Focused on building workflows, artist tools, and scalable, secure cross-series production environments that support generative AI.
Feature-Quality Goal: Job listings clearly state the aim is to develop content at "feature-quality" standards.
Differentiation from InterPositive: Earlier this year, Netflix acquired Ben Affleck's AI startup InterPositive, which primarily focuses on post-production. In contrast, INKubator aims to create an AI-driven creative process from the ground up.
