Musk's Grok Bot Launches Deep Takeover of Microsoft Accounts

Grok Bot has recently received a major upgrade, officially announcing full integration with Microsoft accounts. By leveraging dedicated plugins, it connects to essential office tools like Outlook, Calendar, and OneDrive, providing comprehensive support for complex daily tasks. These include sending and receiving emails, creating, modifying, and responding to meeting schedules, as well as browsing and uploading files to cloud storage.
While the underlying connectors were available as early as May this year, this update’s key feature is adapting them into a persistent cloud PC plugin for Grok Bot. This shift marks a significant advancement from its previous "passive response" mode, enabling the bot to proactively manage work tasks, such as automatically reading emails and drafting replies in advance.
In terms of industry ecosystem and technical approach, major tech giants and open-source communities are actively developing intelligent agents based on Microsoft accounts. Currently, Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic, and open-source projects like OpenClaw are all competing in this space. Notably, Microsoft has adopted a relatively open standard licensing process for third parties, whereas Google has imposed stricter restrictions on automated login processes.
Compared to similar products, Grok Bot’s primary advantage is that users do not need to configure complex local devices or servers. Once authorized, it runs continuously in the cloud 24/7. To ensure security and controllability, the system requires user approval before executing any critical operations, ensuring that final decision-making power always remains with the user.
