Last night at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. Also today, Minding Intelligence's series of edge-side large models, MinaCPM, is deeply integrated into Samsung Galaxy AI – marking the first time a domestic edge-side large model has been adopted in the global flagship lineup of a leading international smartphone manufacturer.
According to the introduction, Minding Intelligence provides edge-side model capabilities to Samsung Galaxy AI, covering text understanding and multimodal perception. The devices that truly adopt this "domestic brain" are the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Each device brings its own distinct advantages. The Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a new 4:3 "wide fold" aspect ratio, an 8-inch internal display, dual 50-megapixel rear cameras, and a 4800mAh battery, breaking away from the traditional narrow foldable screen ratio for a tablet-like visual and productivity experience. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the first Ultra model in Samsung's foldable lineup, retains the book-style fold design with a 200-megapixel main camera and a 5000mAh battery, solidifying its position as the top-tier foldable flagship.
