Meta’s Muse arrives on Mac, enabling AI to perform actions on your computer

Meta’s latest AI assistant, Muse, is now live on Mac.
On macOS, Muse integrates with your files, messages, calendar, notes, and mail, operating directly within their native apps.
This desktop release follows Muse’s mobile and web debut earlier this month, when it rapidly climbed to the top of the U.S. App Store charts.
muse for mac is HERE!! your agent can now get stuff done right on your computer — files, messages, calendar, notes, all of it.
you're in control of what it can access, and it always asks before doing anything sensitive.

Consistent with other platforms, users grant Muse access on an opt-in basis. Meta states the app will always seek your approval before executing sensitive actions.
The desktop launch arrives amid fierce competition among consumer AI agents, widely viewed as the future of computing. This shift is disrupting the app ecosystem, SaaS models, and potentially hardware categories like the iPhone.
Beyond Muse, major tech players are rolling out consumer agentic AI. Other agents have gained traction through text-based interfaces. Poke, an early breakout hit, was acquired by Cognition in July. Meanwhile, Instinct, a frequently discussed AI assistant, is reportedly raising funds at a $10 billion valuation.
The key challenge now is capturing consumer market share quickly. This urgency has driven Muse and Instinct to accelerate feature rollouts, including voice calling launched by both this week.
As Mark Zuckerberg noted on X regarding the Mac app, “The team is shipping fast.”
