LiteLLM, creators of a widely-used AI gateway trusted by millions of developers, has publicly stated it is ending its relationship with compliance startup Delve and will pursue its security certifications anew with a different provider and auditor. This decision follows last week's serious incident where LiteLLM's open-source version was compromised by malware designed to steal credentials.
Before this breach, LiteLLM had secured two security compliance certifications by engaging the AI compliance startup Delve. These certifications are meant to confirm that a company has established protocols to reduce the risk of security events.
Delve faces accusations of misrepresenting its clients' compliance status, with claims it fabricated data and employed auditors who approved reports without proper scrutiny. Delve's founder has refuted these allegations and proposed complimentary re-tests and audits for all clients. This denial prompted an anonymous Delve whistleblower to intensify their claims, sharing purported evidence over the weekend.
On Monday, LiteLLM CTO Ishaan Jaffer announced via X that the company will switch to Delve's competitor, Vanta, for re-certification and will appoint its own independent third-party auditor to validate its compliance measures. Following a particularly difficult week, LiteLLM is taking decisive action.
