On June 3, KFC became the first restaurant brand to integrate with Qwen APP as a third-party skill. Now, users can place AI-powered orders, pay, and pick up meals at any of over 13,000 KFC locations nationwide directly through the Qwen APP.
Users simply say to Qwen: "I'll arrive at Guangzhou East Station in 10 minutes. Please order a spicy chicken leg burger from a nearby KFC for me to pick up later." Qwen understands the request, recommends the most convenient store, suggests personalized meal combinations, and shows the store distance and estimated pickup time — streamlining the ordering and pickup process.
Beyond store and product details, Qwen now integrates with KFC membership benefits, automatically applying the Super Card and relevant coupons when users place orders.
KFC is also currently testing Agent services with Qwen. By leveraging Agent features such as proactive planning and tool calling, the company aims to deliver even more proactive and personalized experiences in the future, including reservation ordering and meal planning.
