iOS 27.2 Beta Brings Major Health App Overhaul and Siri Expands to Five Languages
Apple has just released the first iOS 27.2 beta for developers. Skipping the expected iOS 27.1 test phase, Apple launched the 27.2 testing cycle directly on September 16, pushing initial betas for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS simultaneously.
iOS 27.1 appears reserved for the upcoming foldable iPhone Duo, launching October 23 with native pre-installation.

Health App Redesign: Insights, Longevity, and Camera Self-Tests
Unveiled September 9, the revamped Health app features Insights, Longevity, and Browse tabs. Insights tracks vital signs, sleep, and activity, while Longevity monitors trends and calculates a "health age." New camera-based self-tests assess mobility, strength, balance, and VO2 max, accompanied by a fresh icon.
Apple’s developer docs confirm the new Health app won’t ship with iOS 27.2 but will arrive later this year, initially supporting only American English. It requires Apple Watch Ultra 4 or Series 12 for advanced health sensing.
Siri AI Expands to More Languages, FaceTime Dual Cameras and TV Profile Sync Arrive
Expanding beyond English Beta, iOS 27.2 adds Siri AI support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, though German remains excluded. Due to the Digital Markets Act, Siri AI is still unavailable in the EU. These languages entered developer testing ahead of Apple’s October rollout promise.
The Apple TV app now supports personal profiles, including child accounts with age restrictions (defaulting to "6+"), plus sign language translation. FaceTime group calls now enable simultaneous front and rear camera use. Germany, France, Italy, Poland, and Romania have also activated a new tracking authorization prompt.
Two AI features temporarily removed before iOS 27’s launch—message reply suggestions and automatic password repair—are expected to return in the 27.2 cycle, though absent from this initial beta.
