Google Launches New Windows AI App for Instant Search
As AI technology advances rapidly worldwide, Google officially launched its new AI search application, "Google app for desktop," for Windows users on April 15. This release means users can search for information anytime, anywhere, without needing a browser, significantly enhancing daily convenience.

The "Google app for desktop" is powered by advanced Gemini AI technology. Users can quickly open the search interface by pressing "Alt+Space," then enter questions or keywords to get instant results. The app not only retrieves web information but also searches local files, installed applications, and Google Drive content, making it a highly efficient local search tool.
Beyond its robust search capabilities, the application integrates practical tools like Google Lens and screen sharing. With Google Lens, users can easily select any on-screen content for searches, such as translating text within images or solving math problems. The screen-sharing feature allows users to select a specific window or their entire screen and ask the AI questions directly, eliminating the need to switch between apps and boosting productivity.
Currently, the application supports Windows 10 and later systems. However, a Chinese version is not yet available, and the interface is offered only in English. Additionally, Google has announced it is developing a standalone Gemini application for macOS, aiming to compete with other AI desktop clients on the market, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude. This launch marks a significant step for Google in the AI-powered desktop application space, promising to deliver greater convenience and innovative experiences to users in the future.
