On Monday, Google revealed that the Gemini app is extending its personalized image generation capabilities, powered by Nano Banana, to a wider audience. As of today, all eligible users in the United States can use this feature at no cost, removing the previous restriction that limited access to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.
First introduced in April, Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature enables users to generate images tailored to their specific interests. This functionality allows the AI to create visuals based on its understanding of your preferences, eliminating the need to explicitly detail these elements in your prompts. To achieve this level of personalization, Gemini draws on data from your connected Google services, including Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search history.
For instance, rather than providing a detailed instruction like, “Create an illustration of me and my favorite things, such as coffee and baking,” you can simply ask, “Create an illustration of me and my favorite things.”
Furthermore, Gemini can automatically retrieve actual photos of you from Google Photos, saving you the step of manually uploading images.

Google launched the Personal Intelligence feature earlier this year, making it accessible to all U.S. users by March. The company has since expanded this functionality to users in India and Japan.
This feature is opt-in, giving you full control over which apps Gemini can access. Once activated, it becomes the default setting for every prompt, though you can turn it off at any time using the toggle located in the Tools menu.
In addition, Google announced several upcoming enhancements for the Gemini app last month. These updates include a new “Daily Brief” feature, a redesigned interface, access to the AI video model Gemini Omni, and a personal AI agent called Gemini Spark.
Notably, Google’s AI chatbot Gemini recently surpassed 750 million monthly active users (MAUs), solidifying its status as a leading force in the artificial intelligence sector.
