Deezer launches free AI music detection tool, scans playlists across platforms in 27 languages

On June 11, 2026, music streaming platform Deezer introduced a free online AI music detector, helping users identify AI-generated songs across multiple streaming services.
The tool supports 27 languages and works with 20 major platforms, including Spotify , Apple Music , SoundCloud, and YouTube Music. This marks a significant cross-platform advancement for the streaming industry, addressing the growing presence of synthetic music and potential fraud.
AI-generated music is surging on streaming services. Recent Deezer data shows that 44% of new uploads on its platform are AI-generated, with nearly 75,000 AI songs received daily and over 2 million each month. Although listener engagement for this content sits at only 1% to 3%, about 85% of playtime has been flagged as fraudulent and had its monetization eligibility revoked.
While Spotify and Apple Music still favor a conservative tag-based recommendation approach, Deezer has chosen to proactively remove AI tracks from recommendations and curated playlists, and has opened its detection technology to external platforms. It may further strengthen copyright enforcement through supplier policy updates or direct content removal.
Against the backdrop of multimodal AI lowering content production barriers, Deezer 's move not only builds competitive differentiation but also provides a technical reference for the entire streaming ecosystem in combating copyright infringement and traffic fraud.
