Cainiao Launches ZeeBot, Its First Self-Developed Climbing Robot, Reaching Top of 5-Story Shelves in 10 Seconds
Cainiao Group unveiled its first self-developed climbing robot, ZeeBot, at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta, and confirmed that the first intelligent warehouse project powered by this robot has been completed in Guangdong Province. Official test data shows ZeeBot can climb to a five-story-high shelf in just 10 seconds, boosting warehouse storage and retrieval efficiency by up to 100%. This launch marks a key breakthrough for Cainiao in proprietary logistics hardware, doubling both warehouse space utilization and operational efficiency.
Bi Jianghua, Vice President of Cainiao Group and General Manager of its Logistics Technology Division, noted that traditional logistics automation has long suffered from fragmented workflows across different stages. As a product that breaks through single-point bottlenecks, ZeeBot's core value lies in enabling intelligent collaboration among multiple robots through AI scheduling algorithms, advancing warehouse management from partial automation to full-chain intelligence. Hundreds of ZeeBot units are already deployed at Cainiao's cross-border logistics warehouse in Dongguan, Guangdong, serving leading global e-commerce platforms.
Cainiao's climbing robot is now commercially available worldwide. According to its business roadmap, the company will deploy this solution in overseas warehouses across Europe and the United States. As AI empowers the global supply chain, the large-scale use of ZeeBot not only enhances cross-border logistics fulfillment accuracy but also signals that the industry is accelerating its transition from simple mechanical replacement toward a highly integrated, flexible AI cluster collaboration model.
