Bezos Leads CuspAI Investment, Pushing British AI Unicorn Valuation to $2.6 Billion
Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder, recently joined the latest funding round for UK-based startup CuspAI as an individual investor. His $400 million contribution has more than quadrupled the valuation of this two-year-old AI firm, bringing it to $2.6 billion.

A Rising Star in Disrupting Traditional Materials Science
CuspAI applies generative AI to materials science. Its proprietary "reverse design" technology rapidly predicts and tests material performance and manufacturability in digital simulations, based on specific properties requested by customers.
This innovative R&D model has earned recognition from industry leaders. Notable advisors include AI pioneers Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun, along with Lord John Brown, former CEO of British Petroleum.
Broad Commercial Application Prospects
The technology has compressed material development cycles from years to mere months, significantly boosting research efficiency. Major clients now include chip equipment maker ASML, tech giant Meta, and automaker Hyundai.
Last month, Finnish chemical group Kemira announced it is using CuspAI’s system to develop materials that remove persistent chemicals from drinking water. Within six months, the project successfully identified 20 candidate solutions from an estimated 300 trillion potential structures.
