Despite being compelled to pull its advanced Mythos 5 and Fable 5 models following strict Trump administration restrictions, the company’s sales remain unaffected. Enterprise AI subscription data for May shows Anthropic’s share rose by 2.5 percentage points to 41%. Meanwhile, former leader OpenAI’s share dipped slightly to 39.5%, trailing in the enterprise segment.
While OpenAI dominates consumer markets, Anthropic is preferred for lucrative enterprise API calls and coding services. The Claude Opus 4.8 model, released in late May, continues to drive substantial enterprise orders.

Analysts note that last Friday, the Trump administration restricted non-U.S. employees’ access to core technologies under export controls, effectively imposing a de facto ban.
