OpenAI reported a 18% quarter-on-quarter rise in revenue to $6.7 billion, up from $5.7 billion in the prior quarter, though its operating loss widened further, disappointing some shareholders ahead of its IPO. Its competitor Anthropic saw revenue more than double to $11.6 billion during the same period, achieving a small operating profit and overtaking OpenAI for the first time as AI competition intensifies.
