Hacktron AI researchers exploited a Discourse vulnerability via Anthropic's Claude to access OpenAI employee ChatGPT accounts and GitHub tokens, gaining entry to the Monorepo code repository. OpenAI patched the flaw and awarded a $6,500 bounty. The team demonstrated that even small groups with AI subscriptions can breach major tech firms, as they accessed sensitive algorithm data without stealing core model weights. This incident highlights the growing risk of AI-assisted attacks on proprietary software infrastructure.

US Judge Mark Pittman rejected OpenAI's motion to force Apple to disclose its confidential antitrust settlement with SpaceXAI. The ruling determined the agreement lacks relevance to the ongoing disputes between SpaceXAI and OpenAI. This follows a recent voluntary withdrawal of antitrust claims against Apple by X and SpaceXAI, while their case against OpenAI proceeds. OpenAI had sought disclosure to assess potential impacts on its own litigation, but the court found no necessity for public release.

OpenAI programmer VB shared a self-distillation technique for Codex where a simple prompt instructs the AI to scan chat history, identify repetitive manual tasks, and package them into reusable tools. An upgraded prompt version 2.0 expands coverage from coding to writing and operations, generating automated workflows. OpenAI has reduced Codex rate limits to broaden access despite some user concerns over token usage.
